In his remarkable work, al-Hafiz Abu ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Barr skillfully delves into the life and campaigns of the Messenger of Allah. By drawing upon the foundational texts authored by al-Imam Musa b. Uqbah, al-Imam Ibn Ishaaq, and the abridged version compiled by al-Imam Ibn Hishaam, he presents a comprehensive narrative that sheds light on the enduring legacy of Prophet Muhammad.
The term 'Seerah' finds its origin in the root verb "Saara, Yaseeru," which signifies "to travel or to be on a journey." Hence, a biography is termed 'seerah' because it essentially traces the journey of the Prophet through life, akin to following in his footsteps.
