ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Musa ibn ʿUqbah (d. 141 AH) was a prominent hadith scholar and historian from Medina, affiliated with the family of Zubayr ibn al-ʿAwwam. A student of leading scholars like ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr and Ibn Shihāb al-Zuhri, he transmitted hadiths from Umm Khalid and other notable figures.

Regarded as reliable by Malik ibn Anas, Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal, and others, his narrations appear in all six major hadith collections. Besides scholarship, he participated in military expeditions. He passed away in Medina in 141 AH.
